Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl of just five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and went to the Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma realized that she wanted to be an actress. Over some time she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre academy where she studied dance and acting. It was already her turn to perform in several Stagecoach as well as school plays before she turned ten. The casting process began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was noticed by casting directors through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been picked for the role. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film on the screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone made in 2001. It was also the most well-received film of the year. Opening Saturday and Sunday ticket sales were record breaking. The film received praise from people who have read it, along with the performances of its three new stars. The highly distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her acting performance as admirable. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later in the film.
